19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hardcourt

A resurgent Medvedev secured his first championship for nearly 30 months with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The athlete, a ex- number one, has had a difficult period, managing just one match at the Grand Slams and undergoing a difficult moment at the American major.

The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serve in especial - caused him falling of the top ten and eventually splitting with long-time trainer Cervara.

Now training with Johansson and his other coach, he has consistently progressed in the last few weeks - culminating in a closely contested three-set win over challenger Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's first championship after the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard surface from that period of that year.

Victory also means Medvedev has secured twenty-one championships at twenty-one different competitions.

"For the first time I have attended a tournament with my children simultaneously, so to win a title is particularly special," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in tribute of my younger daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I won when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had been defeated in his last six title deciders, including in that event in the past months.

The player's defensive strategy and recurring outbursts on court had prompted observers to question if his capacity to compete at the highest level was concluded.

However the athlete has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, striving to advance forward and perform aggressively, reinforced by an improved serving game.

He fought back from a break down in the first set against the tricky Frenchman, winning four of the concluding five points to gain the advantage.

Both players swapped service breaks in the following set before Moutet, bidding for his initial professional championship, took control to force a third set.

The opponent rescued four early-game chances in a tight third set before the Russian won the break to 15 to close out the victory.

Appropriately, Medvedev secured the title with a point at the net area, with his opponent unable to control a volley after over two and a half hours.
