Since the launch of the fourth campaign, fresh DM the talented storyteller has kept viewers on edge with rich lore, a colorful mix of characters, and a exciting storyline featuring divine entities, fiends, and malevolent powers growing in strength within Dol-Makjar.
Heads-up: Key plot points for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 follow below.
The Warrior Group Revealed
The latest chapter concluded with a dramatic pause and presented the premier party of adventurers who will branch out from the primary party to begin their independent quest, separate from the remaining groups.
This warrior group includes Teor (played by the voice actor), the agile character (the talented performer), Tyranny (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Given an extensive roster, it was clear from the start that keeping everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
This explains, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, connecting the individual narratives before branching into three separate parties: Fighters, Schemers, and Explorers.
The Nature of the Soldiers Table
According to the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for players who enjoy a classically intense fight-heavy story mode where non-violent answers are few and far between.
Initially, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander might appear out of place, but the events of episode 3 make it clear why these five characters are best suited for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the team has a clear idea where to head next after a brutal initial meeting with the enemy group.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose demise kicked off the narrative’s action—used the foes for his selfish purposes, invading the hidden lair, assaulting Thimble, and swiping all the powerful objects to dispose of.
The antagonist then paid off his liabilities and ran away to a fortified location in the northern region, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Personal Motivations
Secondly, each member has a specific drive to exit Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as the close ally and trusted friend, wants vengeance.
- Kattigan has experience in the northern area and advises that it is a nasty environment.
- The warrior and The healer, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to execute the fighter and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- But, their reputation as important members in the powerful family could assist the party access locations they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, The grateful character pledged a life debt to Wicander for his salvation and will now accompany him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are sought by the powers that rule the setting for a range of causes, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and The healer turned against House Halovar and the army of fiends they are partnered with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This leaves them little choice but to head to the remote area in search of the traitor.
